You probably wouldn’t guess which are the companies responsible for creating the world’s first solar powered fitness and sleep tracker so we’ll try to help you – a start up company specialized in wearables that’s called Mistif and… Swarovski. You’re more than surprised to see these two names together, right? They have presented us with the Swarovski Shine solar powered fitness tracker
Mistif already developed a fitness and sleep tracker but in order to make it last forever they needed help from Swarovski and their well known crystals. That’s why this tracker features a crystal face that’s both functional and decorative and a self charging battery that won’t need any charging.
How does it work exactly? The large crystal’s facets reflect light at an optimal angle of incidence to make a concentrated beam that goes to a solar cell hidden beneath. This is how it’s charged by the sun and it can run for days after just 10-15 minutes of exposure while other trackers need to be recharged every week or so.
There’s actually an entire collection of trackers and wearables launched from this collaboration, called Swarovski Shine, with prices for trackers going from $170 to $250 and for accessories from $70 to $150.
