Having an organized wardrobe is the key to have an organized life and to look stylish all the time. It can be difficult to keep your closet tidy and well organized, especially if you’re a bit messy, but I’m sure you all love that feeling you get when you see everything’s perfectly arranged. If you want to know exactly how to organize your wardrobe, I’m here to help you with organizing your wardrobe tips in 6 simple steps.
1. Sort through your clothes at least once per Season
If you want to make the most out of your wardrobe, you should sort though all your clothes at least once per season to see what you don’t need any more and.. get rid of it. Yes, I know it can be difficult to let go, especially when you have some good memories with some of these clothes, but if you haven’t touched them for a year or more, I think it’s time to make room for something better. So if there are clothes that you don’t wear anymore or it they don’t fit you anymore, it’s time to donate or throw out.
2. Try to Maximize your space
Items that you can’t hang or fold, like accessories and bags, should go in boxes. If you have a lot of handbags in your wardrobe, maybe it’s time to store those you don’t use too often in a couple of boxes and make more room for your clothes. You should fill them with tissue so they won’t loose their shape and you’ll save a lot of space. Next, for accessories you could go for clear containers, that will let you find exactly what you need with just a quick glance. You should also maximize the space inside your closet by taking advantage of the doors as well – using racks or hooks on the insides of the doors, you can store your scarves and belts there.
3. Organizing by Type and Color
I’m sure we all have our own way of organizing clothes inside the wardrobe, knits in one place, skirts in the other, but if arrange them by type and then you also arrange them by color, you’ll be surprised how easy it is to find exactly the piece you’re looking for! You should keep season clothes at eye level and the clothes you don’t wear too often you should put them on a higher part of the closet.
4. Organizing your wardrobe tips #4. Use Matching Hangers to hand your clothes correctly
This is probably the easiest thing to do. An organizing your wardrobe tips to make your closet look clean and stylish is to get uniformity, starting from the hangers. If you have the same kind of hangers in your entire closet, everything will be at the same level and easy to get. For skirts and pants you should have hangers with clips if you want to take them in or out of the wardrobe quickly. You shouldn’t hang knits for example, because they are a lot better folded.
5. Carefully arrange your shoes
If you have a lot of shoes, you probably know they take up even more space than handbags, and they’re extremely hard to organize, because they come in all sorts of shapes and (heel) sizes. The best use to use the space perfectly is to keep one shoe with the toe out and one with the heel out. You could also store the shoes you don’t use too often in boxes, maybe even clear containers if you want to see them all the time.
6. Organizing your wardrobe tips #6. Fold clothes correctly and stack them by weight
I’m pretty sure by now you’ve learned how to fold items correctly and how to make them look even so I won’t focus on that. If you want to have an organized wardrobe is really important that everything is perfectly stacked, with the heaviest clothes going at the bottom. Also remember that the clothes you wear frequently should be somewhere on top, because you don’t want to ruin all this work everyday, right?
